My Terms & Conditions

I offer a free no-obligation consultation of up to 30 minutes to discuss your project

I will provide you with an itemised quotation for services so that you can decide exactly what research you would like to commission and there are no hidden surprises. I work to our agreed budget and deadlines

I will charge an hourly rate for the following:

• online research
•  creating a family tree and writing your report
•  certificates, wills, photography permits, photocopying and travel costs will be charged for in addition to the hourly rate. This will all be itemised in the initial quotations and on invoices.

I will write an in-depth report which will detail all my research sources, what I found (or didn't find)  and suggestions for further research

I require payment  in pounds sterling which can be paid by bank transfer or PayPal by arrangement. 

• Projects under £100 will require full payment in advance 
• Projects over £100 will require a deposit of 50% to book the research and full payment before I release the report

Sometimes details of ancestors cannot be found for a variety of reasons. In these circumstances charges will still be incurred for my time researching.  I will provide a list of the records & archives I consulted and my findings and any further suggestions for research.
